What do Peppercom President Edward M. 'Ted' Birkhahn and Late Show with David Letterman Star Todd Barry have in common? They'll be sharing the stage this Wednesday night, May 2nd at The Broadway Comedy Club in a special fundraising show to benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
Ted, Todd and other A-list comedians such as Amy Schumer (Last Comic Standing), Dustin Chafin (New York Underground Comedy Festival) and Clayton 'Bloody' Fletcher (Sex & the City, Jamie Foxx Radio, Comedy Time TV) will be helping raise money for my race to become The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Man & Woman of the Year. I'm hoping to be named Man of the year, but will settle for ampersand of the year.
Ted, Todd, Amy, Clayton and Dustin will, in turn, be joined by such Peppercommers as Deb Brown, Brian Mieth and Colin Reynolds. And, hold the presses, one of our clients, Steven Fina, president of Michael C. Fina & Company will be making his stand-up debut! Talk about drama. Wow.
If that's not enough to pique your curiosity and prompt you to open your wallet, this blogger will be MCing AND hosting a live auction of some, way cool items immediately following the show including bottle of La Fenetre wine, Kangoo lessons with Mario Godiva Green, Joe Torre signed baseball and more...
I like to call myself a comedy, climbing and charity-obsessed entrepreneur. Considering we've named our LLS fundraising troupe Team Summit, I think I've hit the trifecta. Now, all I need to do is reach my goal (which goes to funding the research so desperately needed to find a cure to these twin killers).
I hope you can attend. If you can't, I hope you can make a small donation. If you can't do either, well, that's another blog for another day.
